Services & Pricing
Bonafide Dog Cuts grooming services are thoughtfully structured based on coat type and coat length, followed by full haircuts for breeds that require them. Base pricing for each service is determined by your dog’s weight, which helps keep pricing fair and consistent — larger dogs naturally require more time, handling, and physical work to complete their groom safely and thoroughly. A veterinarian-grade scale is available in the salon if you’re unsure of your dog’s weight or have a growing puppy, and every dog is weighed prior to each appointment.
Bath & Brush and Bath & Tidy services are available for both shedding and non-shedding breeds. Base prices reflect the time and care typically required for a non-shedding coat. Shedding breeds require a deshedding add-on, as this process involves specialized deshedding products, additional brushing time, and extra cleanup to properly manage the coat. This add-on also benefits pet parents by reducing shedding for a period of time after the groom. The deshedding fee is applied only when necessary, as including it for non-shedding dogs would be inequitable and unnecessary.
Dematting fees are based on overall coat condition. I do not perform full-body dematting — I believe in humanity before vanity and will not subject a dog to prolonged or uncomfortable grooming sessions. Dematting is limited to small areas and is charged at $1 per minute, depending on severity.
At Bonafide Dog Cuts, services are priced based on dogs who are well-behaved and in average condition. In some cases, additional time, care, or handling is required to safely and humanely complete a groom. A handling or special care fee may be applied for dogs who display aggressive or unsafe behaviour, are uncooperative or unable to tolerate grooming, require extra care due to medical conditions, anxiety, or advanced age, or arrive with excessive parasites such as ticks or fleas. These fees reflect the additional time, skill, and safety measures required to ensure the well-being of your dog, the groomer, and the salon environment, and are assessed on a case-by-case basis with transparency.
Doodles (poodle mixes) have a unique combination coat that requires increased maintenance, additional time, and accelerated wear on grooming tools, which is why they are placed in their own pricing categories.
If you have any questions about the pricing structure, you’re always welcome to reach out before your dog’s appointment. I’m happy to explain how pricing is determined and ensure full transparency. As a one-on-one groomer, my pricing reflects the individual time, care, and calm environment your dog receives — a very different experience from high-volume commercial salons that groom multiple dogs simultaneously.
